Abbey, Life, 400. – Zweiter Druck der Erstausgabe von 1831 mit den 13 Tafeln von Thomas Talbot Bury (1811-1877) und zusätzlich den drei doppelblattgroßen Tafeln von S. G. Hughes nach I. Shaw. – Die fein kolorierten Tafeln mit Ansichten der frühesten Eisenbahn-Anlagen Großbritanniens, Tunnelbau, Bahnhöfe, Viadukte und Brücken. Die drei großformatigen Tafeln nach Shaw zeigen vier lange Züge mit den Lokomotiven und einen Zug auf der "Intersection Bridge". – Block leicht angebrochen, gering fleckig.

With 16 coloured aquatint plates (3 double-sheet-sized). – Second printing of the first edition of 1831 with the 13 plates by Thomas Talbot Bury and the additional 3 large plates by S. G. Hughes after I. Shaw. – The plates depict Great Britain’s earliest railways, tunnels, railway stations, viaducts and bridges. The 3 large plates show 4 long trains with locomotives and a train on the "Intersection Bridge". – Block slightly cracked, slightly soiled. – Later half calf (cover with small damages, scuffed and bumped).
